I have a Samsung DVDR100E recorder & a Liteon 5006 all write recorder I have been busting my head trying to use DVD-RW discs on both, when I record in one & then try & play the exact same disc in the other it wont play & both can take -RW discs even Using DVD-R discs it is the same, record on one & it wont play on the other & vice versa, Can someone please help as this is driving me nuts & I dont want to have to buy a recorder for every room in the house.
I wish the Companies that make these recorders would sort themselves out & make them all compatibile.

The only almost sure way to record with one brand of recorder and play in another is to record video-mode DVD-RW or DVD-R and to finalize the disc. It sounds like you have not finalized the discs. You can still erase a DVD-RW after it has been finalized.

I thought that once the disc was finalized that was it you couldnt record on it, Oh well if thats the case Thank you I will try that & let you know how I get on.
Thanks. -
I probably should add that there are two ways I can re-use a finalized DVD-RW with my Pioneer recorder. One is to unfinalize the disc and then erase the titles that are recorded to it; and the other way is to simply reinitialize the disc (which does not require unfinalizing). I'm guessing you can do the same with your Samsung recorder.
