The file quality is listed at 98%. What does this mean? I use the exact same procedure for all of my video and sometimes the quality percentage will vary.

In the video section, it says "(16:9)." I encoded this with CCE Basic at 4:3. When played, it plays 4:3. Why does it say 16:9?

This is from video that was edited with Video Studio 9 and encoded with CCE Basic. What is Gspot telling me in the Direct Show Render area? Why are my codecs all "n.a.?"

    Thank you.

I wouldn't expect too much from something called AVICodec when it comes to mpg files and as for GSpot, you need to update to the newer beta version which has improved mpeg support.

    This is the important info:

... and GSpot 2.52 Beta should tell you exactly the same.
    If in doubt, Google it.

Does anyone have any feedback on my specific questions?

    Thanks.

No idea. In any case, I don't trust / rate it.

Because the source is 16:9 ? It's probably just a header value in any case.

It plays at 4:3 because that's what you re-encoded it at.

    That you've got MPEG-2.

Because you're using GSpot 2.21. Gspot 2.52 Beta has MPEG support.
    If in doubt, Google it.
