I recently acquire a Eumig RS 3000 super 8 sound projector, it works I believe but I can not thread the reel. Has no take up reel to be found. Does anyone has a copy or no where to get a copy of the instruction manual. Or Does anyone have the same projector, that can give me some information about the beast. Its the TV type projector. Thanks in Advance!!

  2. Don't know anything about that specific unit, but SFAIK you will need a take-up reel, and they are standard and should be interchangable. Where to find one is a good question.

Its a projector that incorporates a screen like a 13 inch tv where you can either let it run thru the screen instead of by a projection screen or flip the flap over and you could play it on the wall if wanted to. I'm puzzle because the beast only has one place for the reel, cannot find where would take reel would go. If I could get it to work would be excellent for super 8 to Dv exchange. Still looking for some kind of original instructions. Thanks!

I know that in the early '70s, Kodak produced a S8 Movie deck with a built in
take-up reel. The supply reel would sit flat on the top of the unit, and
be fed into the projector. The built-in takeup reel was underneath, on the bottom of the unit. Could yours be something like that?

On every other S8 projector I've ever seen, there was always a spindle where a take-up reel would snap on. (usually on a swing up arm)

This one seems to be on the side and looks like its has a auto thread of some kind. This what it looks like.

  7. Is it the one with an integrated screen?(like a TVset); I think that they used a system with coaxial(twin)reels, both the feeding reel and the take up one. I suppose the take up reel is the one right next to the rest of the unit, perhaps you put your feeding reel on the outside and see if there´s a small slot where the film may enter. The main switch may have a "thread" position(before firing up the projection lamp)...see if the film comes out where your take up reel should be(do you have an empty 400" reel?)

Can't help with where the take up reel lives, but here's two places that will sell you an instruction manual for it.

Thats exactly how it looks. Whats so amazing there no space for the take up reel. So it must use the same space I guess. If I can get it to thread it would be a decent transfer unit fot super 8 to DvD. I look on the Net hard to find replacement parts and information on this unit. Thanks for the help everyone.
