  1. I'm trying out some AVI to DVD programs. The Film Machine looks like a great little app, but after it runs through the 2st pass with QuEnc it hangs up and I have to kill it. Anyone now why or how to fix?
For the love of God, use hub/core labels on your Recordable Discs!

This is a great app, but I've only used it with CCE, not QuEnc..What version are U using? One of the last versions had some problems and they fixed it in the most recent update..By Far, I'm no expert in this App., you might find some help in the Program specific forum @:

Or maybe one of the Video Gods in here can pinpoint your issue

I haven't used TheFilmMachine for a while, and then with CCE. I use VSO DivxToDVD now. It doesn't do as good a job as TFM, but it's a little easier to use. I remember TFM crashing on some encodes, likely a problem with the source material. DivxToDVD seems a little more stable.

Most of the All-in-Ones seem have some problems. I use them for a quick encode to DVD of the average Divx or Xvid from the net. The quality isn't usually that great to start with, so I don't expect much. If you have a quality source, I would use TMPGEnc or other mainstream encoder and spend a little more time getting it right.

I've had major crashes with The Film Machine as well. It conflicts with the Vfapi frame server file reader inTMPGEnc Xpress. Both apps have the same reader. It's a shame because when I've gotten Film Machine to work the output with CCE has been excellent.
