  1. Right so I have some dvd mpg 2 files, they are playable in WMP but when I skip a part it will pause and lag and all that stuff. It will play as if it was being fast forwarded or something. the file is NOT corrupt because it works in powerdvd however I would like to fix it in wmp as well, I got the sticky mpg2 codec installed.

An other problem is with some home vcd files that I made, when I made them they were working and now I reformatted and they're not working anymore. I ran them thru gspot and it says I have the codecs installed. Ideas ? Also I installed WM9Codecs a codec pack for WMP and I'm still having some problems with a bunch of .wmv files being GREEN.

Do you get the same results in Media Player Classic or the VLC player?

  3. Fascinating. Did these files play correctly before the installation of the codec pack? These "packs" are often the cause of many problems.

Were the VCD standard? Standard VCD use MPG1, the codec for which is built-in to windows and has been for many years.

  4. Hmm Forum the play fine in MPC, I dunno why they're not playing in WMP like they used to.

Nelson the files had the same problem before I installed the codec pack so its not that and yes it is standard mpg1.

Another thing I'm not sure what codec I had before I formatted but when I played a divx in WMP the words DIVX didn't show in the lower right corner. Any idea?

  5. Very odd. What players have you tried the VCD on, or does it only fail in WMP?

  6. oh well they're vcd files, not burn onto a vcd but I've only tried WMP and MPC.
