When i power the computer up, it will come up, before it starts posting, it will power down, back up and boot up as normal.. I don't think that is normal.. What would be causeing it??

  2. I have seen a couple of machines do this, and it appears to be a normal function. It was a while ago, and I can't remember exactly what brand they were.

Could you please tell us what the exact components of your new machine are? With more information, we may be able to tell you if it is a normal occurance or possibly how to sort it out.

Are you sure it's powering down completely? It appears to have a RAID function and probably loads those drivers at startup. This can blank the screen and appear to be rebooting.

The only other thing I can think of is go to the SOYO site and make sure you have the latest motherboard drivers. The ones motherboards ship with are not always the latest.

You can also go into safe mode and do a step by step boot and possibly trace what the startup is doing. It may just be a normal cycle.

it does kick off.. Then it kicks right back on then fully boots up.. Its weird.. Would the RAID feature be causing it to do it.. Or is it just on some back crack??

Most programs that run during boot just blank the screen like I mentioned.

If it's shutting completely off, then it sounds like it's doing a reboot. It shouldn't be doing that. Take a look at this site, they seem to have some good info:
    http://www.infopackets.com/channels/en/windows/gazette/2005/20050419_computer_spontane...ng_startup.htm

They mention turning off the automatic restart feature to see if any errors are displayed.

This may not really be a problem, but as you describe it, it does not seem to be usual behavior during startup.
