I recorded 3 hours of a HD transport stream via MYHD130. I am trying to convert the file to Nero Digital and edit out the commericals so I can fit the file onto a DVD Dl. The problem I am having is whenever I demux the audio, or convert the file to XVid (using VirtualDub) or Nero Digital the audio and video loose sync. I have read many forums about using ProjectX and what not and have tried many different things. But everytime I demux the file or convert the .mp2 file to anything the audio does not sync. I edited the full .mp2 file using mpg2cut. This file has perfect sync even at the end. But as soon as I demux the file and encode the syce is lost after a few minutes.
The obersvations and steps that I have made are:
    1. Load .mp2 file (demuxed so no audio) into Nero Vision Express
    2. Load .ac3 file into Nero Vision Express
    3. Place both on the timeline
    4. The I notice that everytime either the video file's time is approx 20% longer or the audio file is 20% longer.

I have no clue why this is happening. This happens even after demuxing the original captured file with no cutting of the commercials. Previously have I successfully encoded approx 2 hours or HD without this problem and perfect sync. Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this and how I might be able to fix it? Thanks for the help!

  2. What has changed on your system, source, and/or environment from the time when it DID work, and now, when it does NOT work. It is almost certain that something has changed.

When you demux, are there any other streams besides audio and video contained in the file? Such as a padding stream?

    Nelson,
The only thing that I can think of is that I installed Nero 7. I previously had Nero 6. How would I know if there was a padding stream? These files were about 17Gb but thats all that is different. The files that worked were approx 12 Gb. I didn't change any settings in MyHD that I can think of. I have it set to record only the sub-channel.
