    hey guys.. ive done this in the past but havent been working with editing in a while.. I dont remember how to rip audio from an m2v file. It's a music video.. Any help would be appreciated... thanks!!

    This sounds suspicious: m2v is (normally) a MPEG2 Video Track, are you sure?
    What happens if you rename the track to MPG,MPA or MP2 and replay it f.e. with VideoLan?
    What does GSPOT say to the file?

    An extension m2v is reserved for MPEG-2 Video Only stream.
    Well, perhaps you just mean usual MPEG file (program stream) .

    If you are familar with Graph Edit tool your task is very easy.

    Build a graph like:
    FileSource->MPEG2Splitter[audio]-Dump

    a dump filter will save an audio stream to HDD.
