Would like to add more memory to my older system. Currently, it's got 512MB of DDR266. Any problem with using DDR400 memory which would be faster whenever I upgrade (new mobo/processor) my system in the future? As a test, I've put in another 512MB of DDR400 from another system I have. Seems to work OK, although I can't see any dramatic increases in system performance. Am I missing something?? Thanks.

Well if the CPUs bus speed is 266 and you put 400 in then its going to work at 266. So you have 2 sticks at 266.
You also have to remember that Windows is a picky beast, I've found ram upgrades work fine in apps and games with little effort, but for you to be able to feel it in Windows itself you really got to either clean up the system or reinstall it.
