  1. Hello, I was was burning a vcd but it failed(aborted). After that, I can't found the dvd writer drive. My computer won't show any DVD(writer) rom when I click in "my computer". In Device manager that it show the problem is"Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)

    Click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter for this device."

    I tried to uninstall the drive and restart the computer. but still can't fix the problem.
    My system is winxp. dvd writer model is NEC DVD_RW ND-3520A.

    Can anyone help me to fix this problem? thanks.

    It would help to fill out your computer profile, but:

    You said you uninstalled the burner. Have you tried to uninstall the channel the burner is on? That is the usual method.

    I assume the burner worked properly before the VCD burn?

    What program are you using to burn?

    It may take a repair of XP if all else fails.
