Hi,
Recently had a new dvd burner added to my computer - Sony DRU-810A.
That was set as default drive as opposed to my old Pioneer 109.
Everything seemed to be working fine for the first few weeks until last week when i began to have bother with the Sony drive.
It was showing up in my Computer and as installed in the hardware device section but when it was failing to read any disc i put in be it for burning or just a standard movie.
Didn't come up with the usual AutoPlay menu and when i tried to explore the drive in Windows Explorer - it just said no disc in the drive.
My Pioneer 109 was working fine still so wasn't in too much of a rush to sort the problem out.
But now the very same thing has happened with my Pioneer meaning none of my dvd drives are working?
Anyone any idea were i'm going wrong or were i could look for a guide on fixing it please?

Try them in another workstation first. You may have a faulty IDE cable.

Finally got the Pioneer working.
Installing/uninstalling - taking drive out, checking connections again and again...and again - seemed to work although i'm not quite sure what the problem was still!
Still no progress with the Sony however, but i think that's definitely the writer so shouldn't be in this forum.
Thanks for the reply anyway!
Cheers
