I am also trying to convert a Systm video cast H.264 file to MP4 to play on my ipod but am getting this:

Encoding started on Fri Nov 11 09:36:46 EST 2005
    Input #0, mov,mp4,m4a,3gp, from '/Users/mrouleau/Documents/P2P Downloads/Systm4_podcasting_H264.mov':
    Duration: 00:37:49.2, start: 0.000000, bitrate: 1453 kb/s
    Stream #0.0: Audio: mpeg4aac, 44100 Hz, stereo
Number of stream maps must match number of output streams

    What am I to do?

You're using an outdated version of the external components mplayer and mencoder. Check http://homepage.mac.com/major4/download.html for the current versions.

This seem to be recognized as an audio only file.

Ok sorry for being an idiot on that one. I could have swarn I did it correctly the first time but I didn't. My fault.

What about that other one though? The one you said it looks like an audio file. If you want to take a look at it you can get it from www.systm.org

I was able to convert it with iSquint to ipod playable video but I would rather try to use one tool for everything.

    Thanks
