    Hi,

I've not actually done any capture yet as I am still trying to understand what I need and what's the best capture card/device etc!

I was just wondering, is it possible to use a PC to capture TV (mainly sky from my NTL box) and then stream that live to other PC's using a wireless network?

    (I am using windowsXP pro.)

Any tips/help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks

Windows Media Encoder will allow you to broadcast media over a network. You can download it from Microsoft.
You will need a capture card if you are going to broadcast on the fly.

    Thanks for that gammer!

I don't suppose you have any preference for capture card? I have read a lot of the reviews but there are so many it's difficult to choose.

    Anyway, thanks again.

Personaly I use ATI All In Wonder Radeon cards (I have 2 of them).
I recommend the Radeon version because you can download current software for it from ATI.
However if you go with an ATI AIW card that is not Radeon, make sure it has the "Theater" chip as apposed to the "BT" chip.
Another big supporter of ATI is Lordsmurf. Check out his website, it has some great info:

Thanx for the hlp gammer & edDV. Just wish I could make my mind up on a capture card!

Anyway, I've got a decent system (p4 2.4ghz) so it shouldn't be too bad whatever I choose.

    Thanx again.
