  2. The DivX 6 codec included with Toast 7 is the exact same codec included in DivX Fusion betas... DivX fusion is not adding anything to the codec other than the wrapper applications to batch encode into DivX (called DivX create).

If you want to encode to DivX from within Toast you can drag/drop your video into Toast and use the Export button at the bottom, choose DivX and click Options for all the DivX 6 Pro options. Toast uses QuickTime as the file conversion foundation, so it's the same as doing an export from QuickTime but you get all the DivX options.

BTW - Toast 7 can also do batch export and convert to DivX... drag/drop a bunch of DivX files into the window and follow Export instructions above.

  4. DivX 6 decoder is installed by Toast 7 and allows you to watch DivX files in the QT player.

DivX Fusion encoder is what allows encoding from QuickTime... and yes, you'll probably have to buy it.

DivX 6 Pro encoder in Toast is only available in Toast, but as I said earlier you can use Toast to do your batch encoding of your files and get the full DivX 6 Pro options and since it uses QuickTime as the file foundation, it should be no different than if you exported from QuickTime player.
