Or, how to export video to PicVideo or Huffyuv instead only few DV codecs that version 5.5, which I use, allow...

I don't believe you can frameserve from AE. The only plugin frameserver I know is debugmode's excellent tool, however it only supports a range of editor, not AE.

You should be able to export from AE into any AVI codec you have installed. Just select AVI as the output type, and then huffyuv (or whatever) as the codec. Unfortunately I am in the middle of rebuilding my PC, so I don't have AE installed yet to confirm the actual steps for you.

You must be doing something wrong.

AE (from 3.x onwards) allows you to export to:

AVI, with any of the available Vfw/Directshow codecs that would normally be listed on your machine (I've got ~40 on mine).
QT, with any of the available QT codecs listed on your machine (I've got ~45 on mine).
A number of picture-sequence formats--JPG, TIFF, TGA, BMP, PSD, etc.
    Electric Image format
    Animated GIF
    Adobe Filmstrip format
    and a few others...

  5. In my After Effects 5.5, when I click to File/Export I choose AVI. Then in dialog named "AVI Settings" I select "Settings..." under Video group.

Then, in "Compression Settings" dialog, here is what I can select:

    BMP
    Cinepak
    DV-PAL
    DV/DVCPRO - NTSC
    DVCPRO - PAL
    Intel Indeo Video 4.4
    None

No trace of installed Huffyuv, Picvideo, Divx... and other that I can normally select and use from Premiere...

    Where am I wrong?

Maybe you haven't installed them on that computer!? Those are 3rd party plugins (don't come with Windows or AE).

or, if as you say you can use them in Premiere on the same computer...

Some installation is corrupt and needs to be uninstalled/reinstalled.

I've just checked 4 different machines, no difficulties here.

Somthing Is wrong if you dont even see "No Compression".

You are selecting (Video For Windows"?

In the drop down (Based On Lossless)??

Here you should see Huff. When all the ubove is done Under (Format Options).

  8. Everything is installed correctly - I see huffyuv, pivcideo, DivX and ton of othr codecs in all applications except AE. I workn on the same PC - ofcourse...

    Now, about canadateck tips:

I can select huffyuv and picvideo under "Templates - output module" option. This is only option where all codecs are available. But at the end, when I export, I still have only few codecs to select as I listed in my post (and no huffyuv/Picvideo)...
