I tryed to use Nero Recode to convert a .mov to a .mp4 the other day... and ended up with a movie without sound!

I took a closer look, and noticed that even in playback in Nero its soundless. Under sound source it says something like "Unknown quicktime bla bla".

I'm using Quicktime Alternative to play .mov files, and discovered that when playing in Windows Madia Player, there was no sound eighter.
I tryed to install original Quicktime 7 (isnt it?) aswell, but the problem is exactly the same...

I'm guessing this is a pritty new .mov file since it asked me to get the newest QT when I tryed to play it, so is the problem maybe unupdated software?

Anyone knows a good way to fix or get around this? Maybe converting with VirtualDub or any other "Mov to ..." application?

    Thanks alot for your time!

Check the properties in QT to see what streams it contains. Quite possible that you can simply remux at least the video to mp4. No need to convert.

It has audio when I play it in Quicktime or Windows Media Player Classic... but not in WMP or Nero.

    I downloaded it from apple.com/trailers

Hmm... actually, Quicktime Alternative can make the file .mp4 when downloading... but I need to open it in Nero to fix the size... and there is still no sound..

Anyone used Nero Recode to convert a .mov before? So it acually should work?
