    Hello,

I tried to format a -RW disc a few days ago when a power failure occured.

Now my RDR-HX900 does not seem to recognize -R or -RW blank discs (I don't have any +R or +RW left, can not try them out).
Whenever I insert one I get a 'disc error' message, so I can not format them. Hard disk still works fine, as well as previously burnt DVDs. Also, these specific discs used to work fine before the failure.

As anyone come across this before, and what can I do ? Is there a way to re-initialize the RDR-HX900 or somehting ?
    Help !
    Thanks
    Antoine

I am having that problem too. Impossible to dub from HD to DVD. I can still record directly to DVD, so it is not the DVD that has the problem.

Let me know if you find a solution, I am looking on my side.

    Thanx

How old is it. They do apparently have problems with age, but it's likely to be the disks. My GX300 (same essentually) wouldn't read a Philips -RW(x2) disk. I thought is was a problem but tried a JVC -RW (x2) and OK. All +RW have been fine.
Borrow a +RW disk if you can of better still buy as their handy in that they need no finalising to view on a player or PC.
