Problems with DVD::rip. What's wrong? I configured everything to my best understanding. I can rip to .vob but when I try to transcode to xvid (avi) this happens:Code:Job 'Transcoding video - title #2, chapter #10, pass 1' failed. SuSE 9.3 Pro

I have Linux SuSE 9.3 Pro. I installed DVD::rip according to this http://www.exit1.org/dvdrip/doc/install.cipp guide. But instead of using the command # make install I tried to use the command # checkinstall. That didn't work. It was looking for some .tgz-file, which I understand is used under Linux Slackware. But I could run it from the install directory /usr/src/packages/SOURCES/DVD::rip/Video-DVDRip-0.52.6 after adding "." to the $PATH. So I ran it until I got problems transcoding. It didn't matter much which format I wanted to transcode it to. I tried divx4, divx5, xvid, xvid2, xvid3, xvid4, ffmpeg. I always got error messages. Sometimes it ran for a while 10 seconds or so. So I decided to try to install the packman .rpm, which required a newer version of rar. So I installed it then I tried to install the DVD::rip rpm. But it said there was a conflict with AcidRip /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.6/i586-linux-thread-multi/perllocal.pod. So instead I added packman as a new source of installation in (YaST2 the GUI version). That worked, there was no conflict when I checked the dependencies in (YaST2 the GUI version) and the package was installed. Then I started the program again. At first I wasn't root. But the I changed to root and had to reconfigure everything. In the global preferences section I didn't get any red error-messages. Even the CD-Rom burning commands was green. Below are the entries I changed:
dvd device: /dev/dvd
dvd mount point: /media/dvdrecorder
default data base directory: /mnt/hdb1/Filmer/DVD::rip/Databas-katalog
default directory for .rip project files: /mnt/hdb1/Filmer/DVD::rip/_rip-projekt-katalog
rar command (for subvob compression): /usr/local/bin/rar
writer device file: /dev/dvd
cdrecord device: 0,0,0
cdrecord command: /usr/X11R6/lib/xcdroast-0.98/bin/xcdrwrap CDRECORD
After saving them I went over to the other window and opened a new project, loaded the titles and chapters from the DVD, selected title 2 chapter 10 which was 3 minutes and 21 seconds long, selected swedish subtitles, xvid3 and tried to transcode. Transcode runs for a few seconds and then fails with an error message. Again it didn't matter mu which format I chose. avi (divx4, divx5, xvid, xvid2, xvid3, xvid4, ffmpeg), mpeg, ogg. It always exited with error messages after 1-10 seconds. Below is one of them:

Is there a problem with having colons in the filename "DVD::rip". When I installed all the rpms needed for dvd::rip, from the commandline, the packages was in subdirectories named "DVD::rip".
Thanks in advance, LarsSuSE 9.3 Pro -
The solution was to use transcode 0.6.14 instead of the buggy transcode 1.0.0
