My copy of WinAVI will not correctly import a QuickTime file... it only shows a zoomed-in portion of the top left quarter. But it plays fine in QT. I'm guessing something in the header is corrupt.
Obviously the solution is to try transcoding it. But I find that I'm unable to transcode from Quicktime at all... the only tool I have to do it in is WinAVI and it doesn't import it correctly. I don't have QuickTime Pro. QuickTime Alternative "save" only seems to save the file and doesn't do anything to re-encode it. TMpgGen, VirtualDub, etc, doesn't recognize .mov at all.
I looked in the Tutorial guide and it only suggests River Past Video Cleaner (!) and Rad Video Tools for translating from Quicktime... should I try the latter, or is there something simple I can do using the tools I have?
The source file is here, for what it's worth:

Able to DL here correctly...
Source is:
Video--Sorenson codec, 160x120 (set to resize to 2x),24bit,15fps
Audio--IMA 4:1 codec, mono, 11025Hz
Should play/export in apps that accept QT files (QTPro, PC apps with QTALt installed correctly)
Quality is pretty poor, though.
