  1. Can you tell me any free program that can add the fade in and out into the video please?
I'm using Ulead Video Studio, but only for 30 days (trial)

There's a whole number of applications in the "Video Editors (Advanced)" category of the "Tools" section.
There is some corner of a foreign field that is forever England: Telstra Stadium, Sydney, 22/11/2003.

You could use AVISynth and then frameserve to an encoder:

    If in doubt, Google it.

You can use Wax2. It easily lets adjust the opacity of the clip and much, much more.

You can probably do it with Virtualdub using the logo filter and a black (or whatever color you like) BMP, but I never tried it.

Never used Windows Movie Maker, but I'm sure you can use a Crossfade transition between your clip and a black BMP.

    production library>transitions>fade to black FX
the cross fade FX is there, too.
You can always use the filter's and turn down the brightness and contrast, too.

  7. Wax is a fantastic tool. You could also use AviSynth, though it's less intuitive, but AviSynth gives you more control over the effects. Ulead Media Studio Pro is a great program and worth the money, if you do decide to buy it. I find it nearly as powerful as Premiere but much easier to use.
