Was having some trouble with my burner where a lot of the disks were turning out choppy and was told it was a media problem and to get Taiyo yuden disks and the problem would go away. So I got them today and tried to copy a disk using dvd shrink and bero and got this error.

Can anyone make sense of this? Also, what is DMA someone said my DMA is off. If that is the case how do i turn it on.

Do a search on this forum for DMA. There are a number of detailed threads on this.
-
I figured out the DMA problem and now both my primary and secondary IDE's are working in DMA. So I tried burning the disk that gave me that error and it worked. but when i plated it about 5 minutes into it it froze and then played the last 30 seconds or so again, then froze in the same spot again and do on. Ran a disk quality test with cd-dvd speed and here is what i got.
-
What are you playing it on? Could be your standalone. Try burning with something else like DVD Decrypter.
-
Playing it on a Sony dvd player. It's pretty old. I don't think it is the player though because when i scanned the disk usingcd-dvd speed it showed a lot of damaged area on the disk. Downloaded DVD Decrypter express and it looks like all it does is copy the disk to your hard drive. What do I do from there?
-
Older Sony's are very problamatic with recordable DVD media. IF you have access to another player, try your disc on it.
