  1. Hi,

First few frames of a video clip have a text in the upper left hand corner. I cannot cut these frames. Is there any way I can cover this text by laying something on top of it. Can anyone suggest a program to use to do this?

    Thanks,

    Joe

What format is the video clip file: AVI (which: DV, Divx, Xvid etc.), MPEG, MOV, WMV?
There is some corner of a foreign field that is forever England: Telstra Stadium, Sydney, 22/11/2003.

  4. The simplest and easiest way to do this is:

Fire up VirtualDub or TMPGenc; select the individual frames one at a time; export 'em as a BMP. Then use any graphics app (GIMP 2, Photoshop, whatever) to edit out the text. Then insert the individual frames back into a nonlinear video editing program like Premiere or Ulead Media Studio Pro and conver the individual frames into an AVI. Then edit the avi into the start of the video. I've done this and it's not hard.

I would use the Delogo filter in Virtualdub. Worst case for those frames would be a blurry spot where the text was. If the the text is semi transparent it may be possible to make it virtually disappear.

Edit: Oops, just saw thecoalman's response. What he said.
