I'm pretty new to Vcd's and need some help. I tried 3 times last night playing vcds on my Apex-Ad1000 and all i get is a choppy picture and no sound. I am burning mpg's with Adaptec Easy Cd Creator 4. These mpg's play fine on my computer and have exellent sound. I Don't think there's anything wrong with my dvd player because it plays dvds and mp3 cds flawlessly. Am I burning the VCD wrong?

There could be thousands of things you are doing wrong. Please explain in detail the steps you took to make your VCD's. Also let us know the hardware/software you are using.

If you are ripping from DVD's, try reading SEFY's Guide for newbies, else read the HOW-TO section on the left side of the screen.

Here are the steps I took.
    1. Downloaded Rat Race Cd1 from irc
    2. Made rars into .bin file
    3. Converted .bin file to mpg using vcdgear v3.05
    4. At this point it sound and video work fine using WMP 7.1
    5. Burn mpg onto disc using Apaptec EZ Cd creator 4.
    6. Put it into dvd player and really choppy video and no sound.

Is there stuff i have to do inbetween or am I doing it right?

  5. If you downloaded a CUE/BIN disc image, then why don't you just try burning that (rather than converting to MPEG).

  6. I have the same problem ,is this because used deamon tools to make a virtual drive and then treated this drive as a cd reader drive and burned a cd using adaptec cd copier

Riad: No, I've done that many times, it shouldn't give you any problems.

I was stupid not to recognize this in the first place, follow vitualis's method. Go to the website he posted, it's pretty self explanatory. I, myself would probably follow the fireburner method.

  9. So you wasted over 100 more mb and installed a newer interface for the same program, just to do what you could have done with any of the free and smaller programs ?
