  1. I recently got a new Dual Layer burner, and I'm going to do my first DL burn soon. (Don't worry, I bought Verbatim DVD+R DL's! ) I've been researching on these forums, but I do have one question....

I've read that the best way to make a 1:1 DL copy is to use DVDDecrypter in ISO Read, and then to burn using ISO Write. This is the way I plan to do it.

I've read about 'book type', and how it needs to be set to DVD-Rom to maximize compatibility of DL DVD's in DVD Players. I'm not quite sure how to set the book type, though. My burner is a BTC/Emprex 1016IM. I went into the Book Type area in Decrypter, but I didn't see an option for BTC or Emprex drives.
There is a 'bit setting'(I'm asuming bit setting and book type are the same thing?) program on the Emprex website (drvupdate.com), but wouldn't I be better off to somehow set the book type directly in DVDDecrypter?

I'd appreciate any suggestions. I don't want to be making any $2 coasters.....

  2. If the program being offered by BTC modifies the drive firmware to always set the booktype to DVD-ROM when burning to DVD+R media, that would be good. In my Benq drive, once that was done, all burned DVD+R media ends up with a DVD-ROM booktype even though I don't do anything special with my program used for burning (Roxio EMC7).
