I am confused by something really simple.
With the right driv, firmware and decent appropriate media how long in minutes + seconds should it take to burn a 4.2GB DVD at 8xspeed?

honestly though, even if your media is rated at 8x speed, id still advise against burning at that speed...i burn all my stuff at 4x, if you go much higher than that it may cause problems with some dvd players.....if your burning on a 16x recorder with 16x media though, 8x should be fine
