Tried the Guides section to make sure you've got the process down-pat ?

It could be that your DVD player doesn't like the discs you are using

You might be trying to play PAL on an NTSC-only DVD player or TV

You might not be burning the files correctly

It might be a good idea to get a Rewritable disc until you get the process down. Http://members.dodo.net.au/~jimmalenko/NeroExpress.htm might help with the burning side of things. https://www.videohelp.com/dvdplayers might help you to identify which media has been tested with your player, and also whether your player is Multisystem (PAL & NTSC).
    If in doubt, Google it.

  3. When you convert are you making sure to check the option to force NTSC and whatever aspect you want. Xvid files are usually 25fps or something like that. If you convert a 25fps with DivxToDVD, but don't make sure to force it into a 29.97 NTSC conversion it's not going to play. Also, can you burn straight to DVd after converting, or do they need to be authored? I've actually never tried a straight burn after converting with DivxToDVD. I always sned it into TMPGEnc DVD Author and make a simple DVD.

Let's clarify a few things here:

25fps would be fine if they were PAL. They'd generally be 23.976fps if NTSC.

Not true. It will play if your DVD player can play PAL. PAL -> NTSC conversions and vice-versa are more than likely the cause for most synch problems. One way to avoid such problems is to leave it in the standard it is presented to you in (provided you have the playback equipment).

Yep, you can even use it to burn if you wish.
    If in doubt, Google it.

  6. I said 25fps "or something like that" since I didn't know exactly. My DVD player wont' read PAL discs, so I always force it to NTSC and haven't had any problems before. I'm not perfect. I was just trying to give an idea of what might be the problem since I know I've had the same problem before.
