  1. I recently got an LG LH-T751TB home theatre system and the DVD player seems to skip on nearly every disk I've tried on it. The severity of the skipping varies from disk to disk, sometimes it's barely noticeable, sometimes the entire picture and sound stops dead for a second or two.
We brought the player back and exchanged it for the same model, and the same skips seem to be happening in the same places on the same disks. Thing is, these skips didn't happen on other players I've had, and they're happening on brand new, apparently unscratched disks too, and I've already tried a lens cleaner, so it just seems that the player itself is way too sensitive.
Does anyone know if there's a way around this, i.e. to turn down the lens sensitivity or something?

  2. Try playing commercial disks. Do they work okay?

Also, what media are you using & what speed are you writing at?

  3. If it's an all-in-one unit, they suffer from heat problems, make sure it has plenty of room to vent.

  4. Handyguy, so far I've only been using commercial disks, I've tested recordables just to make sure that they work but I haven't watched any of them long enough to find skipping problems.

Samijubal, by all-in-one, do you mean a DVD/speaker system? We keep a box for digital TV on top of the player but I try and make sure it's not blocking the vents, but maybe that's something to do with it.
