I have borrowed a Sony rdr vx 500 to copy some old VHS tapes of my kids to DVD. I wanted to make copies for family on the computer but the volume shows up as Sonata Volume with nothing there. Is this because of finalization in the Sony? The recorded disks play fine in standalone dvd players. I just hate doing everything at 1x. Any help would be appreciated.

Probably need to be finalized in the Sony first.
Transferring VHS must be done at 1x. Believe it or not, that's how fast VHS tapes are commercially duplicated (but they do it with multiple writers, of course).
