  1. I'm trying to author with DVD Lab 1.0, and all the disks I'm burning are skipping - intermittantly?

They'll play fine on a little portable Apex that I own, but not on my Kodac DVD player.

If I use Nero (don't laugh) the DVDs I burn play fine on both.

This even happened when I took a trusted source (i.e., a dvd that I own and ripped) and stuck deplexed and replexed (not sure if that's those are the right words) and burned them with DVD lab.

My version of DVD Lab is old, would that be the problem?

Are you using the burning engine in DVD Lab ? If so, that may be your problem. Your version is now quite out of date, but even with the updates, I would never use the built-in engine. Nero is OK for burning DVDs (I wouldn't use it for anything else though).

What media are you using ?

  3. As far as the burning engine is concerned, I feel a little silly admitting that I've been using DVD Shrink to convert to an ISO, and DVD Decrypter to actually burn.

As far as media is concerned, I've used Imation +R's and Maxel -R's.

Not that silly, although imgtools classic is probably an easier way to create the ISO that running it through shrink.

Update your DVD Lab installation and see how you go.
