tool to get playtime of a dvd

I have lots of dvds and i want to make my own database, so i need a tool which gives me the exact playtime of a dvd. What can i use for this?

The database I used to use could grab all the details if you gave it a barcode.

Ifoedit looks really good, but one thing is shit, if i bind a *.ifo extension to open with ifoedit, it functions several times that the information about the dvd shows correctly on file click, but then later when i click another or the same *.ifo (doesn't matter) Ifoedit only starts with blank screen and i have to open the *.ifo manualy, is that a bug in the proggy? That happens to me on 2 different machines and 2 different OS, strange!
