  2. Difficult to imagine what you mean as divx are generally avi. If you mean a file with extension .divx well I am not sure, but I think I have read that this is a hack of the avi, so simply rename it. What I can suggest is avidemux2. Hmm, this is one step, but for easy to use, well, I don't know (for me it is easy )

Yep, .divx is based/hacked on avi. Simply remux to avi using VirtualDubMod, AVIMuxGUI, etc. to be left with a stock standard avi without chapters, menus, etc. Renaming should also work, since any parser that can parse avi's should also be able to parse divx files, just without the chapters and other unsupported features.

Really ? I just went to All Guides, used the Format Conversion drop box to select mpg to avi and got 4 guides to start with. AVI to DVD brings up 43 different guides. As conversion from AVI to MPG is an essential set in creating a DVD from an AVI, you should find much in here to read.

What does mpg to avi have to do with the price of fish in Sweden ?

I'm guessing the OP didn't realise that DivX were AVI, or a hack thereof.

I *think* he meant that when you put in "DivX to AVI" or "DivX to MPG" you get no results returned
    If in doubt, Google it.

Sorry, mis-read his post as being conversion Divx - mpg/mpg - avi (i.e. back and forth). Stranger things have been requested here . . . . . .
