  1. Hi! I'm new to DVD burning and I just faced my first problems...
As recommended here, I d/l and installed ffmpeg with the mpeg2enc and both mpegbinaries. Then I took my recently captured from a DV cam .MOV files, and converted 'em using the DVDmpeg2enc preset. I want to visualize on various consumer dvd players a recent trip I made.

Now, when I want to burn it with toast 6.0.3 titanium, I dont know exactly what files to include. Even if I select the dvd option in video submenu, toast changes it to data when I drag the folder resulting from my conversion. Also, I dont know if its normal but when I push play in ffmpeg, theres no sound.

    What is my best option?

I know it must be a rather simple question but I'm really not familiar with DVD burning/converting and all I want is to share my trip with friends!!!

Your help will be very appreciated!

    thanks to everyone!

Set Toast to DVD-ROM (UDF) in the Data tab, under Advanced Options. Drag in the folder that ends in .DVD, change the disc name to something short (<16 characters), without spaces or special characters (except _), and all caps. Burn.

Basicly just like it says in the top sticky.

  3. Update to Toast v6.1.1 - the latest free update.

Drag/drop you video into Toast Video tab, DVD-Video option and Toast will do all the encoding for you. You can then skip the FFMPEG step.

"DV cam" - Import into iMovie, edt, click the iDVD button, tweak the theme in iDVD, "save as disk image". Use Disk Utility or Toast to burn the 'dmg file back to disc(s).

Why screw around with thrid-party stuff when Apple gives it all to you for free?
