Problem converting DVD to AVI - stripes

Can anyone explain why this is happening to me?
I am using FlaskMPEG to convert from DVD (ifos/vobs) to AVI

Looks to me like FlaskMPEG isn't deinterlacing properly, or you're not playing it in a software that deinterlaces properly, whereas in the original shot you are.

Yes, the top image is probably bob deinterlaced (DV?). The bottom is incorrectly resized interlaced video. Open your source file in VirtualDubMode and see what it really looks like. If you want to resize like that you'll have to deinterlace.
