  1. Does Canopus Procoder encodes audio to AC3 or just MPEG2 and PCM? I am looking for the good ac3 encoder. if Canopus Procoder doen not encodes audio to AC3 canyou recomend one.

  2. Procoder outputs wav or mp2 only, not ac3, so yeah, you'll need something to convert the audio after the fact.

    As already mentioned, ffmpeg is one option, check the tools section for other ac3 software. Free programs can be excellent, if a bit involved to work. For reasonably cheap and pretty good, I like tmpgenc's ac3 encoder, it works as a plug-in with tmpgenc stuff but can also run as a stand-alone, you just drop a wav file into the program, it runs, voila, ac3 file. It only does 2 channel, though, if that's an issue. I think it's $60-ish, check out tmpgenc website.

  3. I like the TMPGEnc AC3 Sound Plugin.
    I've heard that Besweet and FFMpeg create non compliant AC3 files.

    So does the TMPGEnc one, if you want to be precise.

    I've never had a problem with Besweet/FFMPEG, been using that method for 3 years now.
