I have a bunch of live concerts on DVD's but most of them are in a 4:3 DAR. When I watch them on my widescreen TV, everything is stretched horizontally so that people appear wider. My DVD player is hooked up to the TV using the component outputs so there is really no way to manipulate the output's aspect ratio.

Is there a program that can convert my DVD's to 16:9 and preserveing the chapters on the copy?

    Thanks for the help.

Cant you change to 4:3 on your tv? ?? Most widescreens tvs supports it.

It is not worth to convert to 16:9, you will lose video quality and you must cut and zoom the video.

DVD Rebuilder can convert 4:3 Letterbox to 16:9, but as has been pointed out, you will be cropping, resizing and reencoding - all carrying a risk of quality degradation. Still, it might be worth trying out if you can't find your TV manual.

My TV is set to 4:3, but if i'm using component video, the movie would still fill-up the screen. I don't want to switch to the regular output because it's more inferior. I guess DVDRebuilder is the only way.

    Thanks for all your suggestions.
