I bought a video rental of a rare VHS release.. But tha damned box cover has those video rental paper stickers all over (well, atleast 2).
How do I remove these stickers without tearing up the artwork on the cover, i.e., remove stickers with VHS cover in tact and legible (so I can scan the cover for DVD cover after VHS to DVD conversion) ?? Is there a secret process for this?
Thanks for any help..

Use Goo Gone. Just a little bit and it will deteriorate all of the adhesive. It should just peel off. Let the box dry and at most it will look a little darker which can easily be fixed in your photo editing software (just use a little dodge on it.)

I use goo gone also, it has been a staple in my household for 10+ years!!
Except the way i do it, is i use a hair dryer and super heat that baby and they usually peel right off, CAREFULY! then use the goo gone to remove any adhesive. My experiance has been leaving goo gone or any liquid on it for any length of time can wreck the paper, as any liquid will do with any paper product, soften it and make some of it come off with the sticker.
It has never failed me yet!! -
Learned a trick from a friend of mine, he uses lighter fluid (the kind you buy in a small can similar to what 3-in-1 oil comes in, and available at any Wal-Mart) to remove stickers. Works well, and doesn't leave a discolored mess or damage on the paper below that you're trying to save. Drip a drop or two onto the sticker and let it sit for a moment to penetrate the glue. Then just lift off. The fluid evaporates quickly and doesn't leave the goo-gone "smell" or residue.
As always, YMMV, but it works well for me.
Just don't smoke while you're doing it.
The hair dryer trick works well too, esp also on paper. Doesn't work as well on plastic, as it tends to melt it before the sticker comes off.Ethernet (n): something used to catch the etherbunny -
I like the way Goo Gone smells. I use the orange scented one...not sure if there are even other scents or not.

That shit ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!! and i'd like to see the "goat piss flavored"... er i mean "goat scented" Go Gone... because the only ohne i have ever found is the "citrus" scented also :P
And i remember someone saying how good "lighter fluid" and "DW40" was for removing price stickers from collectible packages.... and doing it in front of me and me watching as it totally F@#*ED up the paper/cardboard package, and they went OH SHIT!!!!!!!!!! WTF!!!!!!! i just so totaly screwed that package up!!!!! after like 1 minute!!!!!
Anything that can MELT plastic is NOT good to use on any type of plastic (dvdr's) or paper!!!! if it will throw a flame taller than me.... nope... i dont use it for dvdr's or paper... just plain COMNON F@#*ING sense.... damn little kids that have no life long experiance

Now, where can I get his goo gone stuff.. (goat piss flav--I mean, scented, please...). I'd love to just drive over and pick it up rather than order online. I checked a couple of places near me, but no luck.. Thanks again. -
