  1. I just found out that Virtualdub can run batched processes. This would save me a lot of time joining, resizing, etc. I can't find any tutorials on how this is done. Can someone lend a hand?

    Thanks

You do what you do normally and when saving the resulting video to an output file, check the "Don't run this jo now, ......"

Any Save As you do this way is added to the queue which you can invoke by selecting Job Control in the File menu and pressing "Start"

That's really all there is to it.
The more I learn, the more I come to realize how little it is I know.

Yep, basically you get your "job" to a point where you're ready to save out to a new file, then when you go to type in the filename, at the bottom left of the Save As dialog there's a box as SaSi described, that says something like "Don't run this job now; add it to job control so I can run it in batch mode" (exact wording differs between variants).

So you keep doing that until you're ready to let it do its thing, and you go to File > Job Control, and all your jobs should appear in there. Then all you gotta do is press the Start button.

One other handy hint for virtualdub is the "Save processing settings" menu option on the File Menu. This comes in handy if you have a number of files you want to be treated the exact same way, and is a lot quicker than manually setting up the settings for each file.
    If in doubt, Google it.

Wow!! Never actually "seen" this option before - and I've been using VirtualDUB for over three years now. Rally handy for complex conversions.

There are still things to learn....
