Advise on codecs for Gurus

Got a Norwegian movie encoded with XVid or H264 and sound in AAC Audio. How do I extract the audio and video to make it into a dvd. Tried using BeSweet, Graphedit, SoundForge it does not work and like 5-6 other tools as well along with AVI Splitter or the OGG muxing toolsl. Puzzled

What container is it in? mp4? avi? mkv? ogg can't contain XviD, h.264 or aac by the way.

It is on an XVid AVI container with AAC audio also for Braveheart.... anyone knows how I can demux? tried doing it.. nothing seems to pull through.

You would need to use AVIMuxGUI. If you are using h.264 and aac though why use avi as a container?? mp4 makes much more sense.

Also be carefull when re-encoding the extracted aac since there is a good chance that it is he aac and some tools may not recognise the SBR part correctly without a header.
