I want to edit some video clips that I captured from my analog camcorder. I have a few avi files that are about 2 gig apiece. The goal is to edit them and create a single mpeg2 file to burn onto a svcd.
I want to edit them, cut out unwanted parts, add transitions, add titles, etc. Do I perform all of these operations when the files are still in the avi format, or do I convert each segment in to mpeg2 and do the editing then?
Doing this editing when they are in the avi format seems cumbersome since I can end up with a very large avi file.
Thanks
Steven

The Avi file might be larger but it will be better to edit as you can work with it a lot more than the mpeg format
