I'm looking for a player, with support for hardware decoders.
I have a LuxSonor DVD decoder card (ct7160), but i can't find any player that let me use the card.
Thanks in advance.![]()

First, It's a Creative product. Most people around here don't think highly of Creative. All DVD players have hardware decoder built-in. Why would you want to use this PCI card? This is for PC only, not made to connect to DVD players.

mmm.... the Creative Player does not work with this card.
PowerDVD does not allow me to use the card and WinDVD either.

Most people would say i'm crazy, but I need it because it's all what i have, for monitoring my MPEG-2 encodings in the TV, without having to burn the files on DVD.
Sometimes i just want to check the colors, gamma, brightness, etc, and i have to burn the files on DVD. I can't be doing that all the time.
Anyway.....
The luxsonor DVD player allows me to play DVDs directly from the DVD-ROM but i don't have any option for browsing files.
I love this card, the colors are very precise compared with regular TV outs. -
You should ask creative what it does. I found these links.

Another hardware option is the Hauppauge WinTV PVR-350. It has a hardware MPEG encoder and decoder. You can run s-video or composite from the PVR-350 to a TV. When you use Hauppauge's WinTV2000 application the MPEG video stream is sent to the PVR-350 for decoding, then out it's video ports. -
I wonder if this card is a Sigma Designs Hollywood plus clone?
There is a direct show driver that might make it work
