And save the audio file to fix and rejoin with the video? I keep having sync issues with Ulead VS and I just need a program that will do this one simple task.

  2. And just what kind of video file is it? It might help to know that.

You can demux audio using virtualdubmod or pvastrumento. Both are freeware.

You can remux using ImagoMPEG Muxer or virtualdubmod

Thank you, I'll give them a try. I downloaded a trial version of Pinnacle, but couldn't figure out how to split the audio. I've also tried to use Adobe premiere in the past, but it never wanted to open any of my Mpeg2 files.

New question. Ok, I've created my audio file using VD. Now, when I try to open my video file with the Imago program, it doesn't list my video as an option. I'm guessing I need just an Mpeg video file. How do I strip the audio and leave only the video? Also, how would I go about joining the audio and video back together using VD? I didn't see a guide, and it's simpler for me to ask rather than waste a buttload of time trying to figure it out.

Used Mpeg2VCR to create video only, and this Imago program still won't recognize it. What gives? How do I convert to an .mpv file?

To create an mpv (video only) file and the corresponding mp2 (audio only) file I suggest using PVAStrumento (freeware)

    - Open PVAS and load in your mpg2 file (video and audio)
    - Choose 'demux'
    - Where is says 'Basename' browse to the folder where you want the mpv and mp2 files (you should setup this folder before hand)
    - Make sure the file extension in MPEG Video is mpv
    - Make sure the file extension in MPEG Audio is mp2
    - Select start
    - Check the folder to be sure there are two files

To verify that everything went right open Imago and choose the mpv file you just created. You should see that it also chose the audio file that was in the same folder with the same name as the video file.
Tell it to multiplex and if it does and the video plays with audio then everything is as it should be.

Thanks. I actually got it with Mpeg2VCR. I overlooked something. (Easy to do when your brain is saturated and you're frustrated) Anyway, I think I'm good to go now! Thanks for the help.
