Hey everyone,
I'm sorry if this is the incorrect page for me to post this. My problem is that I have a movie in various .vob files, and I downloaded the program DVD2AVI, and used it to convert these files. I was later going to use something simply called "vobtool" to put the audio and video together. However, when I went to use the latter tool, the former program had output video, but no audio, and the audio format and everything was on "auto select" when I first started the conversion. Additionally, when I play what was converted in media player (of course w/out audio). the view is distorted, like the height is too great for the width or something. The format I chose to output the video to was Xvid MPEG-4. Is there anything I'm doing wrong, any advice that anyone can give me, even if it's an alternate better method?
Thanks.

AutoGK or virtualdub-MPEG2 or virtualdubmod would be my tools of choice.
If in doubt, Google it. -
I would go with jimmalenko's choice too.
The freeware method would be to rip the vob's with DVDDecrypter and then load into VirtualDub MPEG-2.Choose XviD or DivX as your compression codec and save.~Luke~ -
Okay, thanks for the advice, a few more questions, though. The other tool I used combined the two different .vob files for me, yet, as you can tell from the post I still had problems. VirtualDub does only one at a time, if I select "Save segmented AVI", how would I combine them later? Also, I'm only working with about 2GB hard drive space, and the other program managed to save the conversion within a gig and some change. After freeing that space up, I still might not have enough, it's claiming it will require 52000MB???? Is this normal?
Thanks for your input. -
If "it" (VirtualDub?) tells you you'll end up with 52 GB, you must have forgot to set video compression, and are saving as raw uncompressed AVI.
