A lot of pinnacle users report this same problem. Numerous factors affect sync issues.
    1. Are you capturing via firewire? USB is not good.
    2. Are you capturing to a dedicated HD. Not the same one that your os and other software are on? This is important.
    3. Do you defrag your HD before attempting to capture?
    4. Do you shutdown all unnecessary processes/tasks before capturing?

If you are doing all of these things, and are still having sync issues, your options are to:
    1. Try different capture card and capture software.
    2. Capture the video by itself, then capture the audio by itself on a second pass, then bring the two together in the editing software.

I'm not saying you won't be able to do this with your setup, but there are other setups which are much less problem prone.

At the top of this forum:

Why does your system have audio/video sync issues?

Why does your system drop frames?

I once had a Pinnacle DC10+ and it was a POS, and so was Pinnacle Studio as far as I was concerned. I persevered with trying to get it to work for about 9 months before biting the bullet and buying an ADVC-100. Never looked back.
    If in doubt, Google it.

I have a Pinnacle BT878 capture card aka POS(piece of shit). But with proper software and CODEC, it will do a decent but not perfect job. I use Picvideo MJPEC codec and AV_IO capture software. No audio sync issue. I found this as the best combination. Alternatively, you can use Virtualdub with huffy codec as both are freeware.
