Do VHS tapes may contain Macrovision protection? I thought it was just on DVDs...
    Oh Baby!!! Sweet!!!

But what video format is encoded in? Is it one the newer MP4s such as the new one by quicktime of even Divx. They both have HD 1280i and some of the examples I;ve seen look fantastic. Is your PC strong enough to play so a high rez video?

  8. How fast is your computer? How much RAM do you have? How fast is your videocard?

If you have a computer less than 3.0GHz then you'll likely experience dropouts, audiosync problems, etc during playback. HDTV quality video is very resource intensive to play. If your videocard is anything less than 128Megs, or if you're using an onboard video chip, again you'll experience the same problems.

In terms of the source file, I've also experienced the same problems when capturing from satellite (eg. DVB). It's likely due to errors being introduced in the stream during downloading. The longer the movie, the more likely an error will crop in, given the massive amounts of data that is being downloaded with essentially no error checking! (as from the provider's point of view, an occasional flicker is not a big deal).

As far as I am aware, you cannot "fix" the damaged segments, as it is a digital error with missing data. This is the most frequent cause, although glitches in the computer itself (eg. bugs, other demands on CPU time, etc) can also introduce errors.

Need tools to fix/rebuild TS file with some errors inside - seems like dropped video frames at some positions.
Direct stream cope with Womble MPEG Video Wizard cause audio-video desync starting at half of video.
PVAStrumento with enabled options "Drop complete GOP on video errors", "Drop GOPs with incorrect time structure" and "Drop GOPs (seemingly) longer then 0 kb" produces mpv and mpa files, and those files muxed with (Womble MPEG Video Wizard) has no desync but at some position there is too long parts (audio and video) are cutted (near 5-6 sec).
Simply playing TS video with KMPlayer looks like there is few frames are skiiped (dropped) and audio without errors- but PVAStrumento cuts the whole parts.
Is there any tool to fix such errors - insert (duplicate for previous correct frame) skipped (dropped) video frames and save as more as possible whole audio stream?

17GB for this movie i doubtless NO high bitrate!

TS is a quality and plain structure format.
If you have a TS file with errors then usually you made a crap recording, or whoever made that recording.

Make another one, its not worth "repairing" such a widespread available movie (on DVD, BD, via DVB-S/2 etc).
