Thanks. I was working on this for a bit and man it was annoying. I'm just wondering why you would have anything other than 29.9700? Is this an issue with some encodings where there is small variations in the fps at times? Really doesn't make much sense to me but now that I have a tool to convert hopefully all will be well.
Thanks again -
The frame rate in an AVI is specified by two numbers, a numerator and a denominator.
The actual exact values should be 30000/1001 which is or 29.9700299700... frames per second. Some programs round the fps differently. They might use 29970/1000 instead. For playback the difference is not perceptable. But VirtualDub sees the different values and complains. -
I need a little more help. This is what I am getting for both the files I'm trying to put together.
Seeing as they are both the same frame rate why would I be getting the msg?
Thanks -
They are not the same rate. Look at the scale and rate numbers. The fps value is an approximation. Make the scale and rate numbers match.
