I'm not sure if this should be in the subtitle section, but it is related to the synchronization of subtitles and maybe some of you had similar problems with synchronization.
I'm ripping an anime from dvd to my PSP, and I've hit a snag. The subtitles are slightly offset from the ripped video. The timecode from the individual vob files, does not match the timecode from the dvd vob set.
Well, anyway......
Is there DVD playing software that can show the complete timecode during playback. Currently I'm using PowerDVD 5.0.
The software should must show a readout of
Hours:Minutes:Seconds:Ticks
especially TICKS
also, extra timecode readouts that i could use but are not necessary are:
Current frame in reference to total frames (sometimes called Frames)
Current frame of the current second (sometimes called Picture)
Thanks in advance.

Well the closest i have to this is "Mark's Tray DVD Player Professional" which is a superb tool/player - more for developers than casual users.... Anyway it displays hh:mm
s:ff where ff is the frame number.
In fact this is the standard way of timestamping in DVDs (i.e. the frame part)
Google for "Mark's Tray DVD Player Professional".SVCD2DVD v2.5, AVI/MPEG/HDTV/AviSynth/h264->DVD, PAL->NTSC conversion.

I see that the idea of this software is good, but the execution is bad. It seems to be somewhat poorly written, greyed out x, can only open dvds thru tray, and for me -> it cant read a dvd stream.
Somebody didnt do their UML diagrams and seems to be following the spiral model, when the waterfall model would beter suit the design. Also, he should have a do-while loop with his try/catch, so the program doesn't just crash after an error and it tries to recover.
Anyways, it gives me an error on any of my dvd, i also tested this on other dvds ripped and physical
Can't render one or more streams.
Number of Streams that could not be rendered: 1
The Stream-Types(s) that could no be rendered: Video
All my codecs are in order, I have stinky's mpeg2, main concept mpeg2, canopus mpeg, and obviously powerdvd's non-shared codec.
Also, if anyone is reading this, my question is still unanswered, because this software malfunctions.ShDwScLaN -
If 'video only' playback is enough, you may try the chaptereditor of GfD. It reads more or less all (unencrypted!) mpeg2 streams (m2v, mpg, vob). You can download it separately here:
https://www.videohelp.com/~gfd/ChapEditGFD_eng.htm
The timecodes are taken from the GOP headers (in hh:mms.msec). If you load a vob file, the timecodes may have an offset (as the 'timing' often starts at the very first vob which usually contains the menus). For the first vob file with the 'movie' video stream you can use the 'Use time offset' feature which uses the first found timecode as 'virtual' zero. For subsequent vobs, it may be necessary to calculate the 'real' time yourself.
Example:
VTS_01_0.VOB: Contains menus, start=00:00:00.000, total length=00:10:06.120
VTS_01_1.VOB: First vob of the movie, start=00:10:06.160
(here you may use the 'virtual zero' to get real timecodes)
VTS_01_2.VOB: Second vob of the movie, start=00:42:28.880
'real start'=00:32:22.720. As the movie has an offset of 00:10:06.160 from the beginning, you need to subtract 00:10:06.160 from all timecodes in the following vob files (if they are a part of the same movie)GUI for dvdauthor:
