  1. I hadn't noticed this issue till today. Apple wants people who are considering the new dual core G5 to know that they will also need to upgrade Final Cut Pro 4.5 to the latest version (5.x). Apprently the version many of us are still using can't be installed on either the new G5 of the new iMac G5s.

    yup, they also are making it the "default answer" when
    you call Apple about problems running FCP 4.5 or DVDSP 3
    on a machine with either OSX Tiger or Quicktime 7.03.....

    and people wonder why I DON'T upgrade....

    The reason the dual core machines need FCP5 is because they don't have AGP graphics boards.

    The reason you're hearing that on any other Mac is because it's easy... You need to learn how to (politely) beat up a level one tech and get to someone who can help you solve a problem.
