  1. Now I've got a new 10gb hard-disc, i can capture HuffyUV for about 20 - 30 mins in great quality. I capture in 480x576 which is the PAL spec size for SVCD with HuffyUV. When I encode to SVCD, when there's lots of movement in my musicvideos i'm creating in SVCD, i can see lines. Are these interlacing lines or sumthin else??

I can encode into VCD, no lines. But SVCD is a problem. I've tried both Progressive and Interlace settings in TMPGenc. The lines still come up.

The lines come up badly when in full screen. halfing the screen is fine. I'm sure it's interlacing.

Could someone try and explain why this is happening and how to fix it.

Is capturing in 640x480 any better to capture in to remove the lines? I prefer capturing in 480x576 because it takes up a little less space when capturing in HuffyUV Codec than 640x480.

Try changing the field order when you encode and that may get rid of the problem if it is interlacing. You could also use a deinterlacing filter if you are playing on PC monitor but keep it interlaced for TV.

No, 640x480 won't fix the problem. Anything captured in more than, I think, 240 lines, will be interlaced.
