    Hello everyone,
    I’m a newbie trying to author dvds and have been facing some problems with the programs and was wondering if anyone would be able to shed some light on it.
    I just downloaded a couple of rips from dvds (which were in the .mp4 format). The program specs are:

    Source : PAL-DVD
    Play Speed : 2500
    Audio Sample : 16
    Channels : 2
    Size : 62261 frm
    Video-Codec : Nero Digital AVC (H.264)
    Audio-Codec : Nero Digital AAC 96KBit/s
    I don’t know if this would be helpful to anyone, but I’m just including it as an added precaution:

    Filter = MMStream Renderer
    Input : {32315659-0000-0010-8000-00AA00389B71}
    Input : {00000001-0000-0010-8000-00AA00389B71}
    Filter = ZJ_MpaDecFilter
    Input : {4134504D-0000-0010-8000-00AA00389B71}
    Output : {00000001-0000-0010-8000-00AA00389B71}
    Filter = Nero Video Decoder
    Input : {31435641-0000-0010-8000-00AA00389B71}
    Output : {32315659-0000-0010-8000-00AA00389B71}
    Input : {00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000}
    Filter = StreamMonitor Audio
    Input : {4134504D-0000-0010-8000-00AA00389B71}
    Output : {4134504D-0000-0010-8000-00AA00389B71}
    Filter = StreamMonitor Video
    Input : {31435641-0000-0010-8000-00AA00389B71}
    Output : {31435641-0000-0010-8000-00AA00389B71}
    Filter = SourceFilter
    Output : {31435641-0000-0010-8000-00AA00389B71}
    Output : {4134504D-0000-0010-8000-00AA00389B71}

    I’ve been trying to convert these files to dvd format and I have used the most popular and recommended programs, like WinAvi & VsoDivxtoDvd (both being the latest version). Divx to Dvd does not recognize the .mp4 files and is not able to sync the volume with the video (I’ve tried this about 6 times with my computer crashing each time). I then tried to convert the file to .avi format using VirtualDub but it does not recognise the extensions. WinAvi does an impressive job with the conversion and is able to smoothly convert to Dvd format. I then burn it with Nero version 6 Dvd Burner (ROM).

    I use a Hitachi DV-PF3A(S) standalone dvd player (which plays PAL formats). When I tried to play the dvd on my stand alond dvd player, the audio comes out smoothly, but the video is jerky. A friend referred me to this site and I found many of the guides very useful but I was unable to find a discussion related to this specific problem. If anyone was wondering, I used the following settings for the dvd conversion (for WinAvi) :

    Aspect ratio: 4:3
    Target Format: PAL
    Preference : by quality
    Video Size: 4300 MB
    Audio Bit Rate: 224000
    Enabled Direct AC3

    I have a Packard Bell Laptop with 512 MB Ram & a 40GB HDD. If someone could be able to help me out with video streaming problem I face, I would really appreciate it (plus I would send u a couple of socks for your efforts ) WinAvi is able to convert the files just fine, but the main problem I face is the video streaming (which is jerky and quite annoying really)

    I hope someone would be able to point me in the right direction.

    The amount of effort that goes into this forum is impressive; kudos to all of you!

    does the converted dvd play jerky on your computer too? using a software dvd player.

    you could try convert the nerodigital mp4 with nerovision express.

    and this is more a converting problem than authoring. moving you.

    nope, it works fine on my computer. i tried to convert the files to dvd format with Nerovision express, but it does not play on my dvd player.

    i guess the only option would be to burn the files on to a normal dvd-R and then watch it on my lappie???

    i also tried to convert it using Cucusoft, but there has been no audio output (i followed the instructions posted on this website to the letter!)

    if there are any other suggestions, im open to them

    As for the problem with winavi, I think you'd better contact at support@<a class="contentlink" href="https://www.videohelp.com/tools?tool=WinAVI_Video_...winavi</a>.com for some solutions!
