I am frameserving a pal avi to tmpg for conversion to dvd mpg2 ntsc. After searching this topic, i found that a solution for this 'decoder lag' was to increase priority of Direct show filter in tmpg. I am running my tmpgenc with Direct show at the top of the list with priority 10, and am still recieving decoder lag error. It is causing my videos to be out of sync. Is there an alternative solution that will allow me to sync my audio and video? thanks.

Try setting the task priority higher in tmpgenc when active and when not active. That might balance things out.
Try encoding the video seperately and encode audio from wav produced by virtualdub. But don't use tmpgenc to do the audio, use a program like ffmpeggui to do it right. -
If you are frameserving to TMPGEnc, then increasing the dshow input just means that the frameserved file is being read by dshow. If you are frameserving via VDub which uses VfW for input, then the input of course is still being opened by VfW. If you are frameserving via AVISynth then you can use directshowsource().
The lag frame should only knock the sync out by 1 frame. -
No i always do audio and video conversions separately. So if i understand correclty i could frameserve to tmpg using avisynth or i can knockout out the first frame in my audio track? Yes the audio is just barely behind video, and in the middle of actual speech, its harder to tell. But its one of those things that bug me and id like to fix it. Thanks
